Hidden Gems & Power Features

Things that are easy to miss but worth knowing:

  • Member Match ranks people by how many of your tagged interests they share — narrow it with Top interests only, or to the ones they actively do (not just follow).
  • "Where are you? What are you doing?" — the top card on your Dashboard — opens Status & Check-in, where you broadcast where you are right now for a window of time. Perfect for impromptu meetups without creating a full event, and it expires on its own.
  • Rating an interest 🚫 Hide on My Interests keeps it out of your recommendations — a fast way to clean up what you see. 😐 Meh is the softer version: not your thing, but you don't mind it showing up.
  • In Chat, the menu on any message lets you 📌 Pin, ↩ Reply, ⭐ Save or 🗑 Delete it — plus ✎ Edit and ↺ Unsend on your own. 📌 Pinned messages stay at the top of the thread, and 🔔 Notify (1:1 chats only) re-sends the push for a message they may have missed.
  • Mark a message 🎯 Action Item from that same menu when it's something one of you owes the other — either side can flag any message, and ✓ Done clears it. An open action item is also exempt from auto-delete, so it won't age out from under you.
  • Every event supports three reminders (set on Event Details) that fire automatically by push/email at the times you pick.
  • Popular Interests isn't just a list — each row opens a live chat room with everyone who shares that interest. You need it on your own list first: tag it 😍 Love or 🙂 Like on My Interests and the room opens.
  • Chat Text Replace auto-expands shorthand as you send (e.g. omw=on my way) — in Chat and LiveChat alike.
  • LiveChat is a fast, back-and-forth 1:1 view of any conversation — open a Chat and tap LIVE to message someone in real time, with typing indicators, read receipts, and a Bloop (LiveChat) ping.
  • Mute reminders without turning them off: set Quiet Hours and a 12-hour Do Not Disturb snooze on Notifications.
  • Favorite people in your Contact List and they show up first in every member dropdown.

Color Coding

  • Blue — Events and Manage screens.
  • Green — Groups.
  • Red — errors and destructive actions (delete, clear, remove).
  • Orange highlight — a warning, or something you need to do/fix.
  • Lime "Save" buttons commit changes; gray buttons navigate without saving.

Quick Interactions

  • Press Enter in any search box to trigger the 🔍 button; tap the × inside a box to clear it instantly.
  • Most filter dropdowns remember your selection across sessions.
  • Toasts (the pop-up messages up top) close on a click anywhere on the toast, not just the ×, and fade on their own after a few seconds. Red error toasts are the exception — they stay until you close them with the ×, so you can't lose one by clicking while you read it.
  • Save buttons show a spinner while saving, flip to ✓ Saved when it lands, and turn red briefly if it fails.
  • Offline? A banner appears at the top — "You are offline. Changes cannot be saved until your connection is restored." Tapping Save then does nothing but warn you, so what you typed stays on screen until you're back.
  • Keyboard power-users: press ? on any page for the full shortcut list. g then a letter jumps to a section (g d = Dashboard, g c = Chat). / focuses search; Esc closes any overlay.

Unhide all ‘Need to Know’ popups

Most pages show a short 💡 Need to Know popup until you tick Don't keep showing this. If you ticked it by mistake, this brings them all back on every device you use. You'll need to be signed in — they're remembered per account.

Unhide all inline tips

The small blue tips around the site each carry an × to hide them for good. This brings back every one you've hidden. While you're signed in they're remembered on your account, so this restores them on every device you use.
