Hidden gems & power features

Things that are easy to miss but worth knowing:

  • Member Match ranks people by how many of your tagged interests they share — filter to Top interests only, or to things you actively do vs. just watch.
  • "✓ I'm Here Now" on the Dashboard broadcasts where you are right now — perfect for impromptu meetups without creating a full event.
  • Tagging an interest Not Interested on Interests hides it from recommendations — a fast way to clean up what you see.
  • In Chat, the menu lets you pin, reply, save, or delete any message — plus edit or unsend your own. Pinned messages stay at the top of the thread; the 🔔 Notify action pushes an alert to a contact who's offline.
  • Every event supports three reminders (set on Event Details) that fire automatically by push/email at the times you pick.
  • Popular Interests isn't just a list — tap any interest to drop into a live chat room with everyone who shares it.
  • Chat Text Replace auto-expands shorthand as you send (e.g. omw=on my way) — in Chat and LiveChat alike.
  • LiveChat is a fast, SMS-style 1:1 view of any conversation — open a Chat and tap LIVE to text someone in real time, with typing indicators, read receipts, and an I'm on LiveChat ping.
  • Mute reminders without turning them off: set Quiet Hours and a 12-hour Do Not Disturb snooze on Notifications.
  • Favorite people in your Contact List and they show up first in every member dropdown.

Color coding

  • Blue — Events and Manage screens.
  • Green — Groups.
  • Red — errors and destructive actions (delete, clear, remove).
  • Orange highlight — a warning, or something you need to do/fix.
  • Lime "Save" buttons commit changes; gray buttons navigate without saving.

Quick interactions

  • Press Enter in any search box to trigger the 🔍 button; tap the × inside a box to clear it instantly.
  • Most filter dropdowns remember your selection across sessions.
  • Toasts (the pop-up messages up top) close on any click, not just the ×.
  • Save buttons show a spinner while saving and turn red briefly if a save fails.
  • Offline? A banner appears at the top and Save buttons disable until you reconnect — your place is kept.
  • Keyboard power-users: press ? on any page for the full shortcut list. g then a letter jumps to a section (g d = Dashboard, g c = Chat). / focuses search; Esc closes any overlay.

Install qMEET on your phone

qMEET is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — install it like a native app, no app store needed:

  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android (Chrome): tap the menu (⋮), then Install app or Add to Home screen.
  • Desktop (Chrome / Edge): click the install icon in the address bar.

Installed, qMEET runs in its own window and works offline for pages you've already opened — with no background battery drain (it's only active when you open it).

Your data & privacy

  • qMEET will never sell or share your information with third parties.
  • You control who sees your name, age, gender, availability, last-active time, and event membership — set it all on Preferences > Privacy.
  • SMS notifications use your carrier's free email-to-SMS gateway — set your phone & carrier on My Profile so they arrive properly.
  • Review or edit everything we store about you on My Profile and Preferences; see Security & Privacy for the full breakdown.
  • To delete your account or request your data, use Contact Us.

Tips for every page

Each page on the site has its own ⓘ Tips button. Here are all of those tips in one place, grouped by area — tap a group to open it, or search above to jump to a page.

Your hub

Dashboard

  • 📍 Open Check-in to broadcast where you are right now — a great way to spark an impromptu meetup without setting up a full event. After 2 hours with no confirmation it clears itself automatically.
  • ⏱ Each card's time-window dropdown (e.g. “Next 2 weeks” for events, “Active in 24 hours” for contacts) sticks across sessions — tune each one to your pace and forget it.
  • 🗂 Cards collapse and reopen independently — click any title bar to toggle. Your open/closed layout is remembered per card. Empty cards auto-collapse so the dashboard never feels like a wall of nothing.
  • ⚡ The chips under the greeting (Find Events, Find Groups, Member Search, Chat, Add Event, Invite) are one-tap shortcuts to the main areas.
  • Suggested ToDo's nudges — invite friends, add contacts, RSVP, finish your profile — auto-disappear as you complete them. Clicking a nudge that mentions a card (e.g. “Your Events”) jumps to and opens that card.
  • ⌨️ On a computer, press ? for all keyboard shortcuts; press g then a letter to jump around (e.g. g c = Chat).
  • Pop-up toasts at the top close on any click, not just the ×.
  • Use the ← Back button to the left of the page title instead of your browser's Back button, and tap the icon any time to reopen these tips.

Getting-Started Checklist

  • 🔒 Your manual check-offs are saved on this device only — they won't follow you to another phone or computer. Auto-completed boxes (locked) are always re-detected from your account.
  • ✅ Most boxes check themselves off as you do things on qMEET — those are locked; the rest you tick yourself when you're ready.
  • 📊 Nothing here is required — the progress bar is just a guide to help you get the most out of qMEET. Tap any item's action button to jump straight there.
  • Reset My Checks clears only the boxes you ticked yourself — auto-completed ones stay checked.

Walkthrough

  • ☰ On a long page like this, the floating On this page menu jumps between sections instantly — especially handy on a phone where scrolling through cards takes a while.
  • 💡 The Good to Know section (collapsed, near the bottom) has the site-wide shortcuts most people miss — the scroll-progress bar, keyboard nav (g c for Chat, etc.), and toast behavior.
  • 🧭 Quickest start: skim the two open sections, then tap Make It Yours and Good to Know to expand them — the Install section is optional if you're on desktop.
  • For a page-by-page feature reference, head to Tips. You can revisit this Walkthrough any time from More → Walkthrough.

About

  • 🚀 No need to read it all — tap Create a Free Account to sign up, or browse events right now without an account.
  • ☰ On a phone, use the floating On this page menu to jump straight to any section — Three Promises, Who It's For, and so on — without scrolling through everything.
  • 🧭 Already signed up? The Walkthrough is the better next stop — it shows how everything fits together and where to start.
  • 💬 At the bottom of Why We Built It there's a direct link to submit a feature idea — we often turn those around the same day.
Joining qMEET

Sign up — Step 1 (your name)

  • Only First Name is required here; Last Name is optional but helps friends find you by name in search.
  • 🔒 Untick It's OK to show my last name to keep it private — we never sell or share any of your info.
  • 🧭 The whole sign-up takes about a minute — eight short steps, and you can edit anything later from your profile.
  • Tap the Why? link to see why a field is useful.

Sign up — Step 2 (birthday)

  • 🔒 Your exact birthday is never shown to anyone — only your age, and only if you leave It's OK to show my age ticked.
  • Untick that box to hide your age publicly while still letting age-filtered events match you behind the scenes.
  • 🎂 Birthday is optional — skip it if you prefer, but planners use age ranges to tailor events and groups.

Sign up — Step 3 (gender)

  • A selection is required — pick Prefer not to say if you'd rather not share it.
  • 🔒 You can control whether your gender shows publicly after joining from Preferences.
  • Gender helps filter gender-specific events and groups, and gives members a quick sense of who's in one.

Sign up — Step 4 (phone)

  • 📱 Phone is optional — if you entered an email on the next step, you can skip this entirely. But adding a number enables SMS reminders for chats and event updates.
  • If you enter a number, also pick your Phone Service (your carrier's text gateway) so we can reach you — choose Other if yours isn't listed.
  • If this number is already on a qMEET account, you'll see a warning as soon as you move to the next field.
  • 🔒 We never spam, sell, or share your number.

Sign up — Step 5 (email)

  • 📧 You need either an email or a phone number — email is optional only if you entered a phone on the previous step.
  • If this address is already on a qMEET account, you'll see a warning as soon as you move to the next field.
  • Your email is used for chat notifications, event updates, and recovering your account if you forget your login.
  • 🔒 We never spam, sell, or share your address.

Sign up — Step 6 (location)

  • 📍 qMEET doesn't use GPS — this is how it finds events near you and lets friends find you by location.
  • Pick Canada and the State dropdown switches to a free-text Province/Territory field automatically.
  • 🔒 Zip / Postal Code is optional and only used for finer location matching — it's never shown publicly.
  • City is also optional; the more you fill in, the better your local event matches will be.

Sign up — Step 7 (display name)

  • 👤 This is the only name other members see — a public handle like a screenname. It must be unique across all members.
  • Your private username comes next on the final step and is never shown to others; only this display name is public.
  • We've pre-filled a suggestion from your name — change it freely (up to 25 characters; letters, numbers, and - . @ & _).

Sign up — Step 8 (username & password)

  • 🔑 Password: at least 8 characters (10+ recommended) mixing uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and/or symbols — a short memorable phrase works great.
  • 👤 Username: at least 4 characters with 3+ unique ones; avoid sequences like 123 or abc, and it can't appear inside your password.
  • 👁 Tap the eye icon to reveal your password and double-check it before finishing — there's no confirm field.
  • You can change your username and password any time from Update Credentials in the menu.
Events

Event Search

  • 🔔 Allow notifications so we can remind you of events starting today or tomorrow.
  • 🗂 Your filters persist per device — the Which events, When, Sort, Category, and location dropdowns restore automatically on your next visit.
  • 📍 With no city typed, the radius filter uses your profile location — type a city to search anywhere else.
  • 🎯 Set your Interests once, then use the My interests dropdown to instantly narrow results to events that match your top interests.
  • Inside an expanded card, set ★ Interested, Maybe, Don't Know, or × Not interested — it saves immediately without a full page reload.
  • 🤝 Tag events (Interested / RSVP) and add your buddies as Contacts — your Dashboard then shows which events your contacts are interested in or attending, so you can meet up!
  • 📋 Open ⚙ Filters & Sorting → Hide These Categories to permanently suppress categories you never care about — saved to your account, not just this device.
  • 📝 Build a Keyword List (e.g. “Winter Activities → ski, snowboard, skating”) and select it from the dropdown to filter event titles by any matching word.
  • Tap + Create New Event to host your own.

Event Details

  • 📄 Duplicate Event (in the Manage card) creates a new event pre-filled with this one's details — the fastest way to reschedule a recurring gathering.
  • 📝 Fill in your RSVP with what you're bringing, guests, and any food allergies — when you arrive, flip Are you going? to Arrived/Attended so the organizer can find you.
  • 📅 Add to Calendar downloads a standard .ics file that opens in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook — 🔗 Share opens a panel to copy the link or invite people directly (from your contacts or by email); Copy Event URL just copies the link.
  • 🗳️ In Activities & Voting, vote on what sounds fun so the group can decide together.
  • 💬 The Event Chat card lets everyone attending coordinate in one place.
  • The hero banner counts down to the start; once the event begins it switches to counting down to the end.
  • Report Event flags it for admins — the organizer is never told who reported it.

Edit Event

  • ⚙️ Settings & Publishing has the two switches that matter most: Event Confirmed (vs Proposed) and Go Live? (visible vs hidden) — your event won't appear in searches until both are set.
  • 🔎 Before naming it, tap (check for similar & duplicate Events) next to the Event Name — if something close already exists, you can join forces instead of splitting the crowd.
  • 📝 Only name, category, and start/end date/time are required — save right away and fill everything else in later.
  • The short description appears in search-result cards; the full description shows on the event's detail page — use Bold, Italic, and List buttons to format it.
  • 🏷 After saving, use Edit Tags so members can vote on activities, and Edit Members to invite and track RSVPs.
  • 🔒 Info for Event Organizers Only (in Extra Details) is private — only co-organizers can see it. Use it for vendor contacts, setup checklists, or notes you don't want members to see.
  • 🗂 Use the section chips at the top or ⊕ Expand All to jump around — the ✓ Save bar stays pinned so you can save from anywhere on the page.

Edit Event Members

  • Export CSV downloads the full attendee list (names, RSVP status, contact info) ready to open in Excel or Google Sheets — opens in a new tab so you stay on this page.
  • Add people three ways: paste a list of phones/emails (one per line — new accounts are auto-created for anyone not found), pick from your contacts, or add a whole group at once.
  • Use the status pills (Going, No RSVP, Organizers, Banned) or the search box to zero in on the right people — both filters work together.
  • On each member card you can Make Organizer, Ban, × Remove, or ✉ Send Invite. Expand RSVP details to see what they're bringing, their comments, and who invited them.
  • Send Invites sends to everyone at once — tap Send Invite to Myself first to preview the email, and tick Resend to reach people who were already invited.
  • ⚠ Invites only reach recipients after your event has been approved — unapproved events show a locked event page.

Edit Event Tags

  • 👍 The vote count badge on each tag shows how many members are keen on that activity — use it to prioritize your event's agenda.
  • 🏷️ Tags let members vote on what they actually want to do together — add the activities and topics that fit, then check back after members have voted.
  • Search the central library by keyword and tap a result to add it; or pick a popular tag from the quick-add chips below the search.
  • Tap × on any tag to remove it from this event — this does not delete the tag from the library.
  • Can't find the right tag? Propose a new one at the bottom — it becomes available after a quick admin review.

Similar Events

  • 🤝 If a close match comes up, open it and offer to co-organize — combining efforts beats splitting the crowd between two near-identical events.
  • 🔎 Results are ranked strongest match first — use the Strong / Possible+ pills to focus on the best hits, or the name filter to narrow a long list.
  • No close matches? The + Create This Event button carries your typed name straight into the new-event form so you don't have to retype it.
  • Tick Only upcoming & in-progress events (on by default) to avoid false positives from long-past events with similar names.

Places

  • 🌐 Public places appear in searches and can be attached to events so members know where to go; 🔒 Private places are visible only to you — useful for personal spots you want to remember.
  • 📍 Tick I'm here now on save to set this as your current location — your contacts will see where you are until you check in somewhere else.
  • Add a street address to unlock the 📍 View on map link (opens Google Maps in a new tab) for easy directions.
  • Only the Place Name is required — so you can save generic spots like "Home" or "Work". Everything else (city, state, address, zip, description) is optional and helps with search and mapping.
Groups

Group Search

  • ➕ Tap + Join right on a result card to join without opening it — the button turns into ✓ Member (tap again to leave).
  • Reset Filters clears a state or city filter you set months ago that's still narrowing results — useful when no results appear but there should be some.
  • 🔒 Private groups don't appear in search at all — card badges flag pending approval (your join request is waiting) or yours (a group you created).
  • 🔍 Tap ▲ Show Search Options to filter by Which Groups (all / member of / created), city, or state — press Enter or tap 🔍 to search.
  • ➕ Nothing fits? Tap + Create New Group to start your own — it goes live after admin approval.

Group Details

  • ➕ Tap + Join Group to become a member — if the group requires approval your status shows as pending until the organizer says yes, and chat is hidden until you're approved.
  • 💬 Group Chat is members-only and opens only after you're a fully approved member — expand it to start chatting.
  • 🔒 Private groups are only visible to members — you'll only reach this page if you were invited or are already in.
  • 🔗 Share (top right) opens a panel to copy the group link or invite people directly (from your contacts or by email); 🖨 Print opens a printable view in a new tab.
  • Organizers see a Edit Group card to edit details or Edit Members; a note explains why it's hidden for non-organizers.
  • ⚐ Spotted a problem? Report Group at the bottom flags it for admins — the organizer is not told who reported it.

Edit Group

  • ⚠️ Each time you save an existing group, it goes offline and awaits admin re-approval before becoming visible again — plan edits in one session to minimise downtime.
  • 🔒 Only Public groups appear in search results — set Group Type to Private for invite-only communities. Enable Members Must Be Approved to review every join request before they're in.
  • 🔎 Tap (check for similar & duplicate Groups) next to the name field to fuzzy-search existing groups and avoid creating a near-duplicate.
  • 📝 Only Group Name is required — short & full descriptions, location, and organizer-only notes can all be added later.
  • 💬 The Info for Group Organizers Only field (under Settings) is private — only co-organizers see it, not regular members.
  • 👥 Use Edit Group Members (below Save) to bulk-add by phone/email or manage the roster after saving.

Edit Group Members

  • ⚠ Send invites only after the group is approved — uninvited people can't open the group page until it's live. Tap ✉ Send Invite to Myself first to preview what members receive.
  • Bulk Add accepts phone numbers or email addresses, one per line — new accounts are created automatically for anyone not yet on qMEET.
  • 🔍 Filter the roster by status pill (Organizers · Members · Pending · Banned) or type in the search box — both filters work together. ⤓ Export CSV downloads the full roster for Excel or Sheets.
  • On each member card: ✓ Approve / × Reject pending join requests, Make organizer, Ban, or × Remove the member.
  • Check Resend in the Send Invites card before sending to reach members who were already invited but may have missed it.
  • Add existing contacts quickly via Add From Contacts below the bulk-add box — no need to type a phone or email.
People & interests

Member Match

  • 🎯 The more interests you tag on My Interests, the sharper your matches — tagging dozens or hundreds is encouraged.
  • 🔧 Filter to Top interests only to surface people who share your strongest picks; add a location filter to find them nearby.
  • 🔍 Use the name filter box or the Strong / Good+ pills to quickly triage a long Best Matches list.
  • ➕ Add a promising person straight from their card with + Add contact, then start a chat from your Contacts.
  • 🤝 Each card shows the overlap % from both sides — a short list with high overlap can beat a long one with low overlap.
  • 📊 Matches by Interest (collapsed below) groups the same people under each shared interest — useful for spotting a shared niche.

Member Search

  • 🔍 Find a specific person matches their exact email or phone; a full name only works if they allow it in their privacy settings.
  • 🎯 Open Shared Interests to rank results by overlap — by count, by percentage, or stack specific interests with + Add and choose ALL vs ANY.
  • 📍 Set location to Near Me and pick a radius to find members nearby (uses your profile city for the origin).
  • 👥 Leave the age range at 18–100 to include everyone — members with no birthday on file are skipped by any narrower range.
  • 💬 Each result has a Chat button — or use the Filter results box to jump to a name in a long list.

Public Profile

  • 💬 To message them, tap + Add Contact first — the Chat button only appears once they're in your contacts.
  • 👀 Viewing your own profile? This is exactly how you appear to everyone else — only what you chose to share is visible here.
  • 🗓️ The Availability card (collapsed at the bottom) shows when they say they're most free — tap its title bar to open it.
  • 🔗 Tap Copy link to share this profile; only an admin can see a member's email or phone.
  • ⊘ Block hides them from your contacts and chat (reversible anytime); ⚐ Report User flags abuse for review.

Contact List

  • ★ Tap the star to favorite a contact — favorites pin to the top here and in every chat recipient list across the site.
  • ✎ Set a private nickname for any contact whose name is too similar to someone else's, or longer than you'd like — the nickname shows instead of their name everywhere you see them.
  • 🔎 Search (Find people) matches an exact email or phone number only — partial names won't appear. Don't know their email or phone? Use Member Match or Member Search instead.
  • 🔍 The filter box under My Contacts searches by name and location — type a city to find everyone from a place.
  • 💬 Chat opens a 1:1 conversation; the name (or Profile) opens their public profile.
  • 🚫 Block moves a contact to the Blocked list and hides them from chat (reversible from the Blocked card below).

Interests

  • 🎉 Tag as many interests as are true — dozens, hundreds, even thousands. The more honest your tags, the sharper your Member Match results and event recommendations.
  • ⭐ Use 😍 Love sparingly for the handful of things you're most into; those carry the most weight in matching.
  • 🏃/👀 On any tagged interest, the 🏃/👀 button flips between “I actively do this” and “I just follow it” — this helps organisers create the right events near you.
  • 🚫 Hide keeps an interest out of all your recommendations entirely — useful for things you actively dislike.
  • 🎯 Tap a face to rate — 😍 Love, 🙂 Like, 😐 Meh, or 🚫 Hide; tap × on a tagged chip to remove it.
  • ➕ Can't find an interest? Suggest it at the bottom — it goes live for everyone once an admin approves it.

Interest Tracker

  • ⚙️ Flip on Show do / follow / competitive options to mark whether you 🏃 actively do an activity, 👀 just follow it, or do it 🏆 competitively — this helps organisers build the right events near you.
  • 💾 ✓ Save Changes saves everything currently visible at once — narrow the list first with Scope or the status filter, then save the batch.
  • 🎯 Only interests you've already tagged on My Interests appear here; set a status to 🚫 Remove from this list to hide one without untagging it.
  • 📊 Set your skill level (Beginner → Expert) on each card to let others know where you're at.
  • 🎨 The coloured strip and chip on each card show its current status at a glance; use Scope or the status filter to zero in on a subset.

Popular Interests

  • 💬 Tap any interest to open its live chat room and meet people who share it right now.
  • 💖 Interests you've tagged are highlighted so you can instantly see how popular your favorites are against the rest of the community.
  • 🔍 The filter box narrows the list instantly client-side — no page reload needed.
  • 📈 Ranking counts members who love or like each interest — 🥇🥈🥉 mark the top three, and a bar shows relative popularity at a glance.
  • 🎯 Don't see your thing ranked? Tag it on My Interests to add your vote and help it climb the list.
Chat & messaging

Chat

  • 🔔 Allow notifications so we can notify you of urgent messages.
  • ⋯ The ⋯ menu on any message lets you 📌 Pin, ↩ Reply, ⭐ Save, or 🗑 Delete it — and on your own messages, ✏ Edit or ↺ Unsend. Pinned messages stay at the top of the thread.
  • 🔴 Urgent flags the message red; the 🔔 Notify menu action pushes an instant alert to a contact even when they're offline.
  • ✍️ Set up Text Replace rules to auto-expand shorthand as you type (e.g. omw=on my way) — applied silently on send.
  • 💬 The recipient dropdown picks a contact, group, event, category, or interest. Empty? First add a contact, join a group, or join an event.
  • Press Enter (or tap ) to send. Attach files with the FILES button, or stage them in advance on Files to Send — images are auto-resized.
  • Tap View to switch saved filters (Unread, Sent, Saved, Pics, Files…).

Chat Text Replace

  • ⚠️ Matching is case-insensitive and matches inside longer words — add a space before or after the word to target whole words only (don't use quotes).
  • 🧪 Use Test Your Replacements at the bottom to preview exactly what your contacts will see before saving.
  • ✍️ Each rule is find=replace — e.g. omw=on my way or gr8=great — applied only to messages you send, never ones you receive.
  • Leave the replace side blank to delete the matched text entirely (e.g. um= strips the word).
  • Tap ✎ Edit as text to type raw find=replace lines directly — one rule per line, up to 8000 characters total.

Files to Send

  • 📎 Files queued here stay until you send a chat message — stage them now and they ride along automatically with your next message to any conversation.
  • 🖼️ Images are automatically optimized on upload so they send faster and take less space.
  • Remove one file with its × Remove button, or empty the whole queue with × Clear All.
  • Tap ✓ Upload and keep adding files — multiple batches merge into one queue. Limits: 10 MB per file, 50 MB per send.
  • 💬 In a hurry? Attach files directly in Chat with the FILES button without pre-staging them here.
Your account & settings

My Profile

  • 📷 + Upload and × Delete for your profile photo save immediately — you don't need to tap Save Profile for those buttons.
  • 📱 SMS reminders need both a phone number and its carrier selected — the text routes through your carrier's email-to-SMS gateway.
  • 📅 Fill in your weekly availability so event organizers can pick times that work for you — they can be granted permission to see it in Preferences.
  • ✏️ Your Display Name is the public handle others see — the only required field, must be unique, 25 characters max.
  • 🕒 Set your time zone here or on the Preferences page so event times and reminders land at the right local hour.
  • Tap Why? next to any field to see exactly how that information is used.
  • Choose where alerts and reminders are sent (notification email / SMS) on the Notifications page.

Update Credentials

  • 🔑 Your current password is required to confirm any change — even if you're only updating your username.
  • Changing just your username? Leave both new-password boxes blank and only the username updates.
  • 🚪 Sign Out Everywhere instantly ends your session on every device — no password needed, handy after using a shared or lost device.
  • New password needs 8+ characters with at least 3 of: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols.
  • Username needs 4+ characters with at least 3 unique characters — no common strings like '123' or 'abc'.
  • 👁 Tap the eye icon next to any password field to show or hide what you've typed.
  • ⚠️ Deactivate Account hides your profile and stops all notifications; your data is kept and you can ask us to reactivate later.

Preferences

  • 💾 Every Display and Privacy option saves the instant you change it — no Save button click needed for those dropdowns.
  • 🎚️ Site Mode controls how much you see: Simple hides advanced options, Standard is the default, and Ludicrous shows everything.
  • 🏠 Clicking the qMEET logo in the upper-left goes wherever you set it — point it at Chat, Find Events, or wherever you start your session.
  • 🔒 Privacy dropdowns control who sees each part of your profile — Everyone, Only Contacts (mutual), or Nobody. They save instantly too.
  • 🔔 Reminder channels, Quiet Hours, and Do Not Disturb live on the Notifications page.
  • 👤 Name, contact info, and availability are on Edit My Profile.

Notifications

  • ✅ After subscribing, tap 🔔 Show a Test Notification — it confirms this exact device will display them, which browser permission alone doesn't guarantee.
  • 🌙 Quiet Hours is a nightly schedule; Do Not Disturb is a one-tap 12-hour snooze — both mute all reminders without permanently switching them off.
  • 🔔 Reminder Preferences and Invitation Notifications each let you turn push, email, and SMS on or off independently — two separate cards, one for urgent-message reminders and one for event/group invites.
  • Push reaches you even when the site is closed; your browser asks permission once. Blocked? The on-screen steps show how to re-allow it per browser.
  • Notification Delivery sets a separate email address or SMS number for alerts — leave blank to fall back to your account email.
  • 📱 SMS reminders need a phone and carrier saved on your profile — the text routes through your carrier's gateway.
  • ⏱️ Remind me every… repeats push reminders only; email follows its own delivery schedule.

Forgot Login

  • 🔑 Enter the email, the phone number, or both — either one on your account lets us find you.
  • 📨 Two buttons, two jobs: ✉ Send Username emails/texts your username; ↺ Reset Password sends a temporary password to login with, then change.
  • 📱 We reply to the email and phone on file — check your inbox and your texts.
  • Forgot which email you used? Try each address you might have signed up with.
  • Requests are rate-limited, so wait a bit before retrying if nothing arrives.
Sharing & invites

Invite a Friend

  • 💡 Login first before sharing — when you're not signed in the link has no referrer tag, so people you bring in won't be credited to your account.
  • 📋 Tap Copy under Or share this link to grab your personal invite URL for any text, email, or chat app — no form to fill in.
  • 👥 Inviting a whole group at once? Use the invite members tool on the Group page instead of adding them one by one here.
  • 📨 In person? Have them scan the QR code at the top — it opens qMEET straight away on their phone.
  • ✉ Type an email address and hit the (add @gmail.com) shortcut link if you only know the username part.
  • Invites are rate-limited per account and IP so you don't trip spam filters.
