What is qMeet?

qMeet is a free community platform for finding local events, joining interest-based groups, and meeting people who share your hobbies. Think of it as a more focused, ad-free alternative to the big meetup sites — with member matching built in so you don't have to guess who you'll click with.

No ads. No upsells. We don't sell your data.

Three pillars: Events · Groups · Members

  • Events — one-time or recurring get-togethers. Search by category, date, or location. RSVP with one tap; chat opens with the host and the other attendees.
  • Groups — long-running communities organized around an interest (hikers, board gamers, language learners). Join a group to follow its events and members.
  • Members — the people. Tag your interests and qMeet's Member Match ranks other members by how many of your interests they share.

You can rename what each pillar means to you — the site adapts to how you use it.

A typical day on qMeet

Most of your time will be on the Dashboard — upcoming events you've RSVP'd to, your latest chat messages, and active contacts within 72 hours. It's the home base for "what's worth my attention right now."

From there:

  • Browse Find Events for what's coming up nearby.
  • Hit the I'm Here button on the Dashboard if you want to broadcast an impromptu meetup without setting up a full Event.
  • Tap Chat for ongoing conversations — pin messages, mark them urgent, save them for later.
  • Refine your Interests over time so Member Match and event recommendations sharpen.

Privacy & detail level — tune it to you

  • Privacy — control who sees your name, age, gender, availability, last-active time, and event membership. Set it on Preferences.
  • Detail levelSimple, Standard, or Ludicrous. Simple hides advanced options for a no-clutter experience; Ludicrous exposes every feature. Pick what fits the way you want to use the site — you can switch any time.
  • Dark mode & font size — one-click in Preferences. Persists across devices.

Install qMeet as an app

qMeet is a Progressive Web App — you can add it to your home screen and launch it like any native app, with no app store needed:

  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android (Chrome): tap the menu (⋮), then Install app.
  • Desktop (Chrome / Edge): look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar.

After install, qMeet opens in its own window and works offline for previously loaded pages. You'll also be able to opt into push notifications for urgent chats and event reminders.
