qMEET is a free community platform for finding local events, joining interest-based groups, and meeting people who share your hobbies — a focused, ad-free alternative to the big meetup sites, with member matching built in so you don't have to guess who you'll click with.

The Three Pillars

Everything on qMEET is built around three simple ideas. The quick version: Events have a date and you RSVP; Groups are ongoing communities you join.

One-time or recurring get-togethers. Search by category, date, or location, then RSVP with one tap — chat opens automatically with the host and the other attendees.

Start Here — A Typical Day on qMEET

New here? These five stops cover almost everything.

  1. Begin on your Dashboard. It's your home base — upcoming events you've RSVP'd to, your latest chat messages, and contacts who've been active recently, all in one place.
  2. Find something to do. Tap Find Events for what's coming up nearby, or browse Groups to join a community.
  3. Meet in the moment with Check-in. Tap the top card on your Dashboard — "Where are you? What are you doing?" — to open Status & Check-in and broadcast an impromptu hangout, no full event needed. Others nearby can see where you are and join you, and it expires on its own.
  4. Keep the conversation going in Chat. Pin important messages, mark them time-sensitive, or save them for later.
  5. Sharpen your matches. Refine your Interests over time so Member Match and event recommendations keep getting better.
Make It Yours — Privacy, Detail Level & Appearance

🔒 Privacy

Control who sees your name, age, gender, availability, last-active time, and event membership — all from Preferences.

🎚️ Detail level

Choose Simple, Standard, or Everything. Simple hides advanced options for a clean, no-clutter experience; Everything unlocks every feature. Switch any time.

🌙 Appearance

Dark mode, dark maps and font size are one click away in Preferences — and they follow you across devices.

Install qMEET as an App

qMEET is a Progressive Web App — add it to your home screen and launch it like any native app, with no app store needed:

  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android (Chrome): tap the menu (⋮), then Install app.
  • Desktop (Chrome / Edge): click the install icon (⊕) in the address bar.

Once installed, qMEET opens in its own window and works offline for pages you've already opened. You can also turn on push notifications for time-sensitive chats and event reminders.

Good to Know
  • Most pages have a ❓ button floating in the top-right that opens a Tutorial walking through that page's features. Every one of them is listed under More → ❓ Help, on the Tutorials tab.
  • Use the ← Back button next to the page title rather than your browser's Back button — it always returns you to the right place (handy in the installed app, which has no browser back button).
  • That thin line at the very top that grows as you scroll is a scroll-progress bar for long pages.
  • Pop-up toasts at the top dismiss on a click anywhere on the toast, not just the ×, and fade by themselves after a few seconds. Red error toasts are the exception: they wait for the ×.
  • On a computer, press ? for the full list of keyboard shortcuts; press g then a letter to jump around (e.g. g then c for Chat).
  • The footer has quick links to About, Security & Privacy, Terms of Service, Troubleshooting, Contact Us and Donate.
