What you'll see 🌲 Old growth

General Sherman is 275 feet tall, 36 feet across at the base and holds around 52,500 cubic feet of wood. The main path drops half a mile from the upper car park, which means climbing 200 feet back out at 7,000 feet of elevation.

Tips
There is a separate accessible car park on the Generals Highway with a level, wheelchair-accessible approach - use it if the climb back up is a problem. The main lot fills by 9am all summer.
