The Wonderland circles the mountain through rainforest, subalpine meadow and glacial river valley, climbing and dropping into every drainage on the way. Total elevation change is around 22,000 feet. Most people take ten to fourteen days.

Tips
Permits are allocated by an early-year lottery and are hard to get. Food caches can be posted ahead to Longmire, Sunrise and Mowich Lake. Glacial river crossings are on log bridges that wash out most years - check current conditions.
