What you'll see 🌄 Big views🦌 Wildlife🌲 Old growth

Developers cut a six-lane swathe down the middle of Elliott Key in 1968, hoping to destroy the island's natural appeal and force a sale. The forest has closed back over it and the result is a flat, tunnel-like walk through tropical hardwood hammock - the longest trail in the park and the only real hike in it.

Tips
The island is reachable only by private boat; there is no ferry. Carry all your water - there is none on Elliott Key. Mosquitoes are ferocious outside the winter months.
