A caribou crossing that people have hunted for 12,000 years, and one of the great archaeological sites in the Arctic.

Tips
The Western Arctic caribou herd crosses the Kobuk River here twice a year, and has done for millennia - the stratified site records nine cultural layers. It is a National Historic Landmark; do not dig or collect anything.
