What you'll see ⛰️ Summit🌄 Big views🌼 Wildflowers🦌 Wildlife

The trail climbs roughly a thousand feet per mile through cottonwood forest, then heather meadows, then bare rock, ending at a viewpoint where the Harding Icefield stretches to the horizon with only nunataks - the tops of buried mountains - breaking the surface.

Tips
Snow lies on the upper trail into July and an emergency shelter stands near the top. Black bears are common in the lower meadows, so carry spray and make noise. Allow six to eight hours and expect the weather to change completely on the way up.
