What you'll see 💧 Waterfall🌊 River or creek🌲 Old growth

Up past a huge banyan tree and the Makahiku Falls overlook, then through a tunnel of green bamboo so thick it darkens the trail and clatters in the wind, ending at the base of the 400-foot Waimoku Falls.

Tips
Reached via the Road to Hana - allow a full day from central Maui. It rains here constantly and the trail is genuinely muddy; the boardwalk through the bamboo is slippery. Never swim in the pools when rain is falling upstream - flash floods here are lethal.
