What you'll see 🌊 River or creek🌼 Wildflowers🕳️ Cave or arch🌲 Old growth🏛️ Historic site

A desert canyon with a permanent stream and a relict forest of bigtooth maple, chinquapin oak and Texas madrone. Pratt Cabin, a 1930s stone lodge, sits at 2.4 miles; the Grotto, a collapsed cave with limestone formations, is at 3.4 miles.

Tips
Fall colour peaks in the last week of October and the first two weeks of November, and the car park fills by 9am on those weekends. The gate is locked at closing time and staff will not open it early - check the seasonal hours. Do not wade in the stream; it is the canyon's whole water supply.
