What you'll see ⛰️ Summit🌄 Big views

Three thousand feet of climbing in just over four miles, on switchbacks cut into the mountainside. A wooden bridge crosses one washed-out section. The summit carries an aluminium pyramid placed by American Airlines in 1958 to mark the Butterfield Overland Mail route below.

Tips
The wind on the ridge regularly exceeds 60mph and has blown people over - check the forecast. Allow six to eight hours. There is no water on the trail and no shade above the first mile.
