What you'll see ⛰️ Summit🌄 Big views🦌 Wildlife🎒 Backpacking

Up either the Pinnacles Trail or Laguna Meadows, across the high Chisos to the South Rim escarpment where the ground simply stops and 2,000 feet of desert opens out towards Mexico. Boot Canyon on the return holds the only Arizona cypress and Colima warblers in the United States.

Tips
Parts of the rim close from February to late May for peregrine falcon nesting - check which section before you set out. Start before sunrise, carry four litres of water, and expect eight to ten hours.
