What you'll see 🌄 Big views

The first stretch is smooth, water-polished marble narrow enough to touch both walls, then the canyon opens into a gravel wash whose walls are studded with the breccia - broken rock fragments cemented back together - that gives the canyon its name.

Tips
The first quarter mile is the best part and takes ten minutes, so it is worth stopping there if time is short. Two dry falls further up need a scramble. The access road is washboard gravel.
