What you'll see 🌄 Big views🏞️ Lake

A steep gravel switchback descent of 700 feet down the caldera wall to the lake shore. It is the sole trail in the park that reaches the water, and the departure point for the boat tours to Wizard Island.

Tips
The park compares the climb back out to walking up 65 flights of stairs at altitude. The water sits around 55F even in August. Check whether the trail is open - it has been closed for multi-year rehabilitation work.
