What you'll see 🏞️ Lake🌲 Old growth

Pyramid Lake is a short, uncrowded day hike with moderate elevation gain. The trail passes through lodgepole pine forest, then hemlock and fir forest, to a tiny mountain lake with a unique community of plants growing on floating logs. Difficulty : Moderate. Distance and elevation : 4.2 miles (6.8 km) roundtrip with 1,500 foot (455 m) elevation gain. Access : Park on the north side of State Route 20 near milepost 127. The trailhead is on the south side of the road west of the parking area. Leashed dogs allowed. Detailed trail description.

Tips
Steep and rooty the whole way with no views until the lake. Quiet, which is unusual for a Highway 20 trailhead.
