A short trail through the forest to the edge of Ross Lake and the top of Ross Dam. The trail crosses Happy Creek and drops down from the highway to the impressive Ross Dam. Difficulty : Moderate. Distance and elevation : 1.5 miles (2.4 km) roundtrip with 500 foot (150 m) elevation gain Access : The trailhead is at milepost 134 on State Route 20. Leashed dogs allowed. Tips
Downhill in and uphill out. The dam holds back Ross Lake, which runs 23 miles north into Canada. A water taxi from here serves the Ross Lake Resort and the northern trailheads.
