📏 What The Numbers Mean
Every card collapses — About and Location open by default,
the rest are one tap on the heading.
Length is round-trip: on an out-and-back it counts the walk back,
and the label says so. Typical time is the estimate for that same
distance, so the two always agree.
Difficulty is how the trail is billed. What you thought of
it is a separate answer you give when you log a hike — and the page will
tell you when the two disagree.
The facts grid shows only what we actually know about a
trail, so a short list means a thin record, not an easy walk. A
Permit line appears only when one is genuinely required.
📍 The Map May Be The Park
When we have the trailhead's own coordinates the pin is the trailhead,
and the line under the map names it.
When we don't, the map falls back to the park's center and says
so in as many words. Read that line before driving — it's the difference
between a parking spot and a rough area.
🚗 Directions ↗ and 📍 Google Place ↗ hand off to Google
Maps in a new tab; ⛅ Check the Weather stays on the site.
In Links, Official Website and Permits appear only when
we hold one for that trail. Search Google is always a ready-made search
built from the trail and park names, so it works even when we hold no links at
all. The AllTrails button says which kind it is: Find on AllTrails
is that same kind of search, while View on AllTrails means we have a
verified link and it opens the trail itself.
✓ Logging A Hike
Signed in, + I Hiked This opens the log. One row per hike —
walk the same trail again next year and log it again; both are kept, with
their own ratings and conditions.
Give as much date as you remember: an exact day, a month, just the year,
or I don't remember — a half-remembered hike is still worth
recording, and the page won't turn "summer 2019" into a made-up date.
Rate it Overall, on Views (where no view is a real
answer), and on how hard you found it. Add the time it actually
took, the conditions that day, and whether you'd go again.
Your hikes are shared with PackList PRO, the same way your park
visits are — log one here and it's there too, and the other way round.
⚠ Two things here are public: A tip for other
hikers, and your ratings, which always count toward this
trail's community average. Your notes, who you went with and your
photo link are yours alone. This form has a Save button and
nothing is written until you press it; Delete on a logged hike is
permanent and asks first.
