What you'll see 🌄 Big views🌊 River or creek

The most used of the park's inner canyon routes. It is not a trail: it is a marked descent down loose rock and dirt, with an 80-foot chain fixed at the steepest section, ending on the Gunnison River. Everything you descend has to be climbed back out.

Tips
A free wilderness permit is required and numbers are capped daily. Allow twice as long coming up as going down, carry three litres of water, and wear boots with real tread - trainers slide on this. Poison ivy grows chest-high near the river.
