What you'll see 🌄 Big views🌲 Old growth

The grove holds trees over 3,000 years old, growing on glacial moraine at 10,000 feet. Prometheus, felled here in 1964 and found to be nearly 5,000 years old, was the oldest tree ever recorded.

Tips
Interpretive signs in the grove explain how the trees survive. Continue another mile to reach the rock glacier. Cold and windy even in August - carry a layer.
