From Logan Pass the trail traverses the Garden Wall on a ledge blasted out of the cliff, with a hand cable bolted to the rock for the first exposed section. It runs level for miles below the Continental Divide, passes Granite Park Chalet, then drops 3,400 feet in four switchbacking miles to The Loop.

Tips
Take the shuttle back from The Loop rather than retracing - the free Going-to-the-Sun shuttle makes this a one-way walk. The cable section is genuinely exposed but the ledge is wide enough to walk normally. Mountain goats and bighorn sheep are near-certain, and this is prime grizzly country, so carry spray.
