What you'll see 🌄 Big views🦌 Wildlife

Point Bennett at the western tip of San Miguel Island regularly holds tens of thousands of seals and sea lions of up to five species at once - one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in North America. All hiking beyond the ranger station on San Miguel must be ranger-led because of unexploded ordnance from the island's military past.

Tips
You must be accompanied by a ranger, and San Miguel boat trips are infrequent and often cancelled for weather. Sixteen miles round trip, so it is a full committing day.
