What you'll see 🌄 Big views🌊 River or creek

Trail length: 0.4 mi (0.8 km) round-trip Elevation gain: 164 ft (50 m) The steep trail to the top of Inferno Cone is challenging, but it rewards hikers with 360-degree views of the Great Rift, the Snake River Plain, and the Pioneer Mountains. On the clearest days you may even see the Teton Range, 100 miles to the east. Caution: This open, exposed trail can be hazardous in high winds.

Tips
Pets are not allowed on any trails or in caves. Lava rocks are rough and jagged. The surface of the dark rocks can reach 150 degF (65 degC) or more in the summer and quickly burns paws. Pets should never be left unattended in vehicles or the campground. Parking areas do not have shade and air temperaturescan exceed 90 degF (32 degC) in the middle of summer.
