What you'll see 🕳️ Cave or arch🏛️ Historic site

Mammoth Cave has more than 420 mapped miles of passage, more than twice any other cave known. The Historic Tour goes in at the natural entrance past 1812 saltpetre mining works, through Fat Man's Misery and Tall Man's Agony, and up the 155 steps of the Mammoth Dome tower.

Tips
All cave tours are ticketed and must be booked in advance - they sell out weeks ahead in summer. Wear proper shoes; the floor is uneven and slick. Do not wear anything that has been in another cave without decontaminating it, because of white-nose syndrome.
