Mojave Trails National Monument spans 1.6 million acres of California desert between Interstates 15 and 40, taking in ancient lava flows, the Marble and Clipper mountains, dry lake beds, Route 66 relics and World War II training grounds. Proclaimed in 2016, it links Mojave National Preserve with Joshua Tree National Park and includes the longest remaining undeveloped stretch of Route 66.
