🔎 It Opens Filtered — And Remembers

The list never opens on the whole catalog: Type starts on All National & State and State on your home state — most of the catalog is county and city parks.

All four dropdowns are remembered, so the page reopens on whatever you last chose; Show All Parks in the no-match box clears everything to the widest list, and that sticks too.

Size hides only parks known to be smaller than your pick — a park with no recorded acreage is never dropped — and 🏕️ Activities keeps a park only if it offers every activity you tick.

Opening a park and coming back resets nothing — search, filters, chips and page number are restored. Parks you've hidden stay out of the list until you press Show hidden; un-hiding lives on Places Near Me → 🙈 Manage Hidden Places.

🏞️ Your List Is Shared With PackListPRO

Signed in, you get a My Parks tab, and the quick chips — Next, High Priority, Not Visited, Visited — search only that list, never the catalog; tapping one switches you to My Parks by itself.

Switching there also widens the default Type and State filters — but only ones you never chose yourself — so your own list can't be hidden by them.

Being on your list never claims you've been: Not Visited means no visit is logged, and the 🎒 passport strip counts logged visits only, staying hidden until you have one.

The Been! tick on the right of every row is how you log one without opening the park — it records a real visit with no date ("Date unknown"), which also puts the park on your list. Untick it to take that visit back; once a park has visits you gave dates to, they are managed on the park's own page.

Ticking or unticking asks you to confirm first, and the park's name is in the question — on a page of 25 rows, that is what makes a mis-tap catchable before it is written.

It is one record on two sites — the list, visits and ratings you keep here are the same rows PackListPRO reads, and the other way round.

🧭 The Map, And Getting There

The map plots everything the filters currently select — not just the 25 rows on screen — up to 600 pins; when anything is left off, the line under the map says so.

🏷 Park names draw only while 30 or fewer pins are in view, so at a wide zoom the checkbox looks idle — zoom in and the names appear.

In a pin's popup, Details opens the park's page, Route draws the drive on this map (tap an alternate to switch), Google Maps ↗ is the one link that leaves the site, and Google Place ↗ opens the park's listing — hours, photos, reviews.

Routing starts from 📍 Use My Location, and Sort: Nearest to Me asks for your location the moment you pick it — when it can't have one, the sort falls back to Name rather than pretending. Browsing itself is free: OpenStreetMap tiles, distances computed on your device — only Route calls out.
