Haden Park is the northern most stop along the Glade Top Trail National Forest Scenic Byway. The lands upon which Haden Park are situated were purchased from Mr. Michael Ryan on June 24, 1935, under authority of the Weeks Act. It is not known if Ryan established a home in the area; his name does not appear on the Rolls of the United States Population Census of 1930 for this region of Douglas County, Missouri, though he may have resided elsewhere in the general vicinity. While remnants of a homestead have not been identified nearby, a number of archaeological features have been recorded in the area, including what appears to be a stone-lined sorghum cooker, several trash scatters dating to the 1920s−30s, and a number of rock piles and stone alignments related to agricultural field clearing activities.
