Several somewhat secluded picnic sites sit at the end of a half-mile loop trail though impressive old growth stands of Virgin Red Spruce. The Gaudineer Scenic Overlook also sits along this trail. Allegheny Trail is also located nearby for those looking for a more ambitious hike. Also close by is the West Fork Trail, which guides you along the Shaver's Fork River. This scenic stop can be found 7 miles north and west of Durbin, West Virginia, on Shavers Mountain.
