🔍 Search Overrides Your Filters
Type a word and press Enter to match a group's name or description.
A search term ignores every filter — city, radius, size, activity, Which
Groups. Clear the box to get your filters back.
Filters save to your account and follow you across devices.

📍 How the Location Filter Works
Most groups cover a whole metro area and carry no city of their own.
City + Radius is what finds them: your city and each group's metro center both
resolve to map coordinates, so Novi within 50 miles also returns Detroit Metro
groups.
Any Distance drops City and State entirely and searches
everywhere (Country still applies). If the city you typed isn't recognized, the search
falls back to a plain name match — which misses those metro groups.
🔒 Private Groups and Joining
A Private group appears here only if you created it or already belong. To
everyone else it doesn't exist in search.
+ Join on a card joins without opening the group. If the organizer screens
members you'll see Awaiting Approval until they say yes.
Leaving is done from the group's own page.
💡 Tips
- Default sort is Most Interests Matched — rate things on
My Interests to make it work.
- 🔗 Invite on a card invites people to a group without joining it
yourself. They get an invitation on their Home page and are only in the
group once they accept it.
- Created a group nobody can find? It has to be published and public
before it shows up in search.
- + Create New Group sits at the bottom — add topic tags so interest
sorting can surface it.
