Just a name is required — a short and full description help people find and understand your group, but you can add them later.
This setting decides whether people can find your group.
All optional. Setting a city/state lets you limit membership to people in that area — leave it blank for an anywhere group.
This is where you create and edit your group — its name, description, location, membership, and settings. Only the Group Name is required; everything else you can add or change anytime.
The page is split into collapsible cards — use the quick-jump chips at the top or ⊕ Expand All to see everything. Under Membership, "Who can see this group" sets its reach: Any member is the only setting that appears in search, while Private is invite-only and hidden. Turn on Members Must Be Approved to vet each join request.
Tags are the interests your group is about (Hiking, Board Games, Salsa, Investing…) — the single most important thing you can do to help the right people find your group.
Suggested Groups recommends your group to members who share those interests, and members search & filter groups by interest. With no tags, hardly anyone ever discovers it. Once the group is saved, tap 🏷 Edit Group Tags and add every interest that fits.
The Go Live? setting (under Settings & Publishing) is your visibility switch: Yes publishes the group; Not Yet keeps it a hidden draft while you finish setting up.
Here's the part that surprises people: every new group — and every save to an existing group — goes into the admin approval queue and drops offline until it's re-approved, so it won't reappear the instant you save. Batch all your edits into one sitting and save once to keep the downtime short.
The hardest part of running a group is picking times and activities people actually turn up for. Once your group has members, its page (GroupDetails) does the guesswork for you with anonymous charts built automatically from members — no polls to send around.
📊 Member Availability shows the best day & time, 🧩 Member Interests shows what activities to plan, and Member Cities show where to hold it — the when, what, and where with no guessing. You see how many are free or interested, never who. Lock the plan in with Group Chat.
