Cardboard Boat Races (and Design Competition)

Watch creativity and teamwork come together at one of Homecoming's most iconic traditions! Teams will showcase their handcrafted cardboard boats before racing them across the water for a chance to earn Homecoming points and bragging rights. Boats will be judged on creativity, craftsmanship, and theme before taking to the course, where speed and teamwork determine the winners. Participants must be registered with a Homecoming team to compete, but everyone is welcome to come cheer on the racers. The event officially begins at 4:00 PM, but competing teams are strongly encouraged to arrive by 3:00 PM to complete check-in, sign required waivers, have their boats judged, and prepare for the races.
