About This Event

Huskies Swim Training is a program that provides additional attention and competitive guidance to advanced swimmers looking to focus on stroke technique and efficiency.

Sessions will be designed to improve swimming through stroke drills and swimming sets focused on endurance, speed, and race strategy. Coaches will provide feedback and stroke correction in a group environment with an emphasis on promoting a love for competitive swimming and lifelong skills such as discipline, dedication, and teamwork. Come be part of the pack!

Competitive swimming opportunities are now available to current Huskies Swim Training participants! Contact Annie Bengry at ambengry@mtu.edu for more information.

Participants must have completed the Huskies Group Swim Lessons, American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Level 4 or equivalent, demonstrate competency in all four strokes, and be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool unassisted. Please see the Training Groups table for more information.

The first week of each session, participants will be placed into groups based on speed and stroke proficiency. It is recommended that all participants participate 3 days a week to see optimal stroke and speed improvement.

Please contact Annie Bengry, Aquatics Manager, with any questions regarding group placement or if your child is ready for this program.
