 for a public talk from Trish Grosse Brewer\, assistant teaching professor 
 of philosophy\, titled "Life Before Death: Reframing Reproductive Ethics i
 n the Bioethics Classroom". "Although pregnancy is a medical condition tha
 t touches every human life at some time or other\, in the bioethics classr
 oom it is treated primarily\, if at all\, as a necessary condition for deb
 ates about abortion\, assisted reproduction\, and genetic testing. Let's n
 ot do that. This [presentation] offers a pedagogical model that puts pregn
 ancy (and pregnancy loss) at the front of the line\, making it the startin
 g point and ethical grounding for rather than absent referent of reproduct
