 y to feel disconnected from our political system. Join political scientist
  and author Lindsey Cormack for a candid breakdown of what constitutional 
 democracy actually asks of us. Drawing on her work in civic education\, co
 ngressional history\, and real-world political communication\, Cormack inv
 ites us to look past the noise and take an active role in pushing our inst
 itutions forward because each generation has the potential to shape the fu
 ture. Dr. Cormack will open the event with her presentation\, followed by 
 an interactive Q&A session. This event is part of the Van Evera Distinguis
 hed Lecture Series. This lecture is partially funded by the Visiting Profe
 ssor Program which is funded by a grant to the Office of the Provost from 
 the State of Michigan's King-Chávez-Parks Initiative. This event is spons
