DESCRIPTION:Come make a splash in Huskies Group Swim Lessons! American Red 
 Cross Parent & Child Aquatics levels are being offered at the SDC Pool for
  ages 6 months to 3 years old. A parent is required to be in the water wit
 h each participant. Parent and Child Aquatics Ages: 6 months to 3 years A 
 parent is required to be in the water with each participant. Description: 
 The purpose of the course is to familiarize children with the water and te
 ach swimming readiness skills. In addition\, Red Cross Parent and Child Aq
 uatics provides safety information for parents and teaches parents techniq
 ues they can use to help orient their children to the water. Learning Obje
 ctives: ? Learn to ask for permission before entering the water ? Understa
 nd the need for adult supervision around water ? Learn how to enter and ex
 it the water safely ? Feel comfortable in the water ? Practice blowing bub
 bles ? Explore submerging to the mouth\, nose\, eyes and completely ? Expl
 ore submerging in a rhythmic pattern ? Explore buoyancy on the front and b
 ack position ? Glide on the front and back with assistance ? Change positi
 on in the water ? Perform a rudimentary stroke using combined arm and leg 
 actions on the front and back with assistance ? Learn how to play safely i
 n the water ? Experience wearing a U.S Coast Guard-approved life jacket No
  previous swimming lesson skills or history needed to participate in this 
 level. Space will be provided for personal items on the pool deck. Goggles
  are highly recommended. Showering is required before entering the water. 
 Class size is limited.
